A message from HB, an Email Marketing Club member
A message from HB, an Email Marketing Club member:
Miss Email Marketing guru!
I wanted to forward an example of email marketing that has impressed me from West Jet airlines asking me to confirm that I do wish to receive their guest-partner mailing list. This is a good idea in case you accidentally hit a subscribe button this is"honorable email marketing" as they give you a call back to opt-out of you wish....I've seen this a couple of times in my travels as of late and likeit!

HB,
I can understand why you like this type of approach. In the industry it is called double opt-in email marketing. This is the reason you will see a lot of companies using this approach:
-it guarantees the person who belongs to the email address wants to join the list (someone else could enter your email address and sign you up for list)
-it also allows the owner of this list (in this case Westjet) to have an audit trail of the subscription. In the event that a subscriber later complains to Westjet (or Westjet’s email list management service / or email hosting company) that Westjet is Spamming, they can show that the subscriber did indeed join the list.
Email Marketing Made Easy uses double opt-in with all their Email Marketing newsletters and Email courses. We only want people on our Email lists who really want to be there!
Thanks so much for your email HB!
